Tony Nominations announced – Hair & Next to Normal lead nominations!

The nominations for the 63rd annual Tony Awards were announced this morning, May 5, by Tony winners Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Cynthia Nixon. At the top of the list for number of nominations this year are two of our Sh-K-Shows, Hair and Next to Normal!

Best Performance of a Leading Actor in a Musical – J. Robert Spencer

Best Performance of a Leading Actress in a Musical – Alice Ripley

Best Performance of a Featured Actress in a Musical – Jennifer Damiano

Best Scenic Design of a Musical

Best Lighting Design of a Musical

Best Sound Design of a Musical

Best Direction of a Musical

Best Orchestrations

Best Revival of a Musical

Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical – Gavin Creel

Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical – Will Swenson

Best Costume Design of a Musical

Best Lighting Design of a Musical

Best Choreography

 

In addition to these big time honorees, the recent Broadway productions of [title of show] and White Christmas picked up a few nods as well!
